    Questions

    Rebate questions, answered.

How much can Canadians save on the Smart Splitter?

Our Canada offer applies automatically at checkout — CAD 300 off the NEMA 14-30 and CAD 400 off the Dual EV (NEMA 14-50) — and we refund CAD 200 more once you connect the Smart Splitter in the NeoCharge app. In British Columbia, BC Hydro adds up to CAD 200 on top when you install it with an eligible Level 2 charger.

Does BC Hydro’s rebate cover the Smart Splitter?

Yes. Every NeoCharge Smart Splitter model is on BC Hydro’s eligible EV power management device list. BC Hydro adds CAD 200 to its charger rebate (up to CAD 350), for up to CAD 550 back, when you install it with an eligible Level 2 charger and an approved electrical permit. FortisBC customers don’t get the CAD 200 top-up, but the Splitter’s cost counts toward the CAD 350 charger rebate.

How do I get the electrical permit in BC?

Your electrician usually pulls it online through Technical Safety BC, or through your city where the city issues its own permits (Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey, for example) — and the permit cost counts toward the rebate. If you own and live in a detached home, you may be able to get a homeowner permit yourself.

What about Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and Nova Scotia?

Outside BC, provincial and utility programs mostly cover chargers, rates or rewards rather than the Smart Splitter itself — Quebec’s Écorecharge, for example, pays toward the charger only. Our Canada offer applies in every province. Pick your province above to see what else is available.

When do I get the CAD 200 back?

Connect your Smart Splitter in the NeoCharge app and keep it connected for 14 days — we then refund CAD 200 to your original payment method. Program terms apply.

    Do I need an electrician?

The Smart Splitter plugs into the 240V dryer or range outlet you already have, so there’s no new circuit to wire. BC Hydro’s rebate still requires an approved electrical permit, so plan on your electrician if you’re claiming it.

Sources & methodology. Every amount comes from the program’s own website or terms and is re-checked regularly. Programs that pay toward the Smart Splitter are listed first; “ask first” means the program may cover it if a condition is met.
